The purpose of this
site is to provide an educational database of
engineering concepts to students through the
medium of Lego construction
How does
it work?
The site is organized as a collection of
small projects, to introduce a concept, and large projects,
to show concepts in real applications. Each project
allows students to download a .pdf of building instructions,
or follow along with 3D instructions on their computer.
How do I set up the 3D instructions?
Download and install
the Cortona VRML client, which can be found by clicking
the parallel graphics link to the left. Once the
plugin is installed, reload this page and you should
see a lego character on the left side of your screen.
If you click and
hold the mouse over the lego man, you can spin him
in 3D. If you right click you will be given a series
of options. It is recommended that you set your speed
to "fastest" and change the renderer in
the "preferences" menu to DirectX. This
should make the graphics run smoother. If you want
to zoom in or out on the model use the "fly" option
in the "navigation" menu when you first
right clicked on the image.
