Mass

Mass is the amount of material in an object. Mass differs from volume which is the amount of space an object takes up. Mass also differs from weight. Weight is a force. For example, a person who weighs 100 pounds on Earth will weigh less on the moon due to the decreased gravitational force. This person will have the same amount of mass no matter if on the moon or Earth.
