SAM Animation is software that empowers students and teachers to express their ideas and develop understandings using stop-motion animation. The software takes a live video image from a USB webcam, and the user can "snap" still images to build up frame-by-frame animations, or simply a digital flipbook. 

 

Students use stop-motion as a way of predicting the results of an experiment, reporting the findings, or telling the story of a favorite book.  

 

In 2010 the increased traction and successful research of SAM Animation spurred the spin-off company of iCreate to Educate, which is now the exclusive developer and distributor of current and future versions of SAM.
